​Gillian is a saxophonist and educator with a strong record of nurturing the next generation of musicians. She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Royal Northern College of Music, and her performing career has taken her across Europe, North America, and Asia. She has appeared at major festivals and venues including the BBC Proms, the World Saxophone Congress, EurSax, and Koganei Miyajigakki Hall in Tokyo. As a chamber musician, she performs with the Polaris Duo and the Borealis Saxophone Quartet, who have both featured on BBC Radio 3, and appears regularly with orchestras such as the BBC Philharmonic, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, The Hallé, and Opera North.
Gillian is a Saxophone Tutor for the Junior Royal Northern College of Music, and has previously taught at the Universities of Sheffield, Bangor, and Huddersfield. She also tutors on the Harrogate Saxophone Summer School. In 2025 she founded the Manchester Saxophone Academy, where she serves as Director and leads the Conservatoire Pathway.
